Position Summary

The Shop Supervisor is responsible for directing and controlling all shop operations related to teardown, inspection, rebuild, pressure testing, tagging, and recertification of high-pressure flowline equipment and components.

This position is accountable for production performance, quality compliance, personnel oversight, safety enforcement, and operational execution while ensuring work is completed in accordance with company procedures and applicable API standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who leads from the front, enforces standards, develops employees, and drives operational results.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Direct and oversee all daily shop activities
  • Manage workflow, scheduling, and production priorities
  • Ensure equipment is processed, rebuilt, tested, and documented correctly
  • Identify and resolve operational issues proactively
  • Maintain efficiency while meeting turnaround expectations

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure work complies with company procedures and API standards
  • Verify inspection records, pressure charts, and certifications
  • Maintain traceability and documentation accuracy
  • Support audit readiness and corrective actions
  • Prevent nonconforming work through process control

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise and develop technicians and shop personnel
  • Maintain accountability, professionalism, and productivity
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified
  • Support competency development and on-the-job training
  • Enforce company expectations consistently

Safety

  • Enforce all safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Maintain safe work practices around high-pressure equipment
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Stop work when unsafe conditions or procedural violations exist

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with district leadership and administrative staff
  • Provide updates on production status, delays, and operational issues
  • Coordinate workflow between shop and administrative functions

Qualifications / Preferred Experience

  • Experience with high-pressure flowline, monoline skid packages, valve rebuilds, or related oilfield equipment
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in industrial or shop operations
  • Experience in pressure testing, inspection, or recertification operations preferred
  • Familiarity with API standards and quality systems preferred

  • Ability to read technical drawings, pressure charts, and procedures
  • High level of accountability and operational ownership

Technical Proficiency

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Operational systems such as TessaLink and IronTrac preferred

Preferred Certifications

  • MT / PT / UT Level I or II
  • VT Level II
  • Pressure testing competency
  • Forklift, telehandler, or overhead crane operation

Working Conditions

  • Industrial shop environment with occasional field support
  • Exposure to high-pressure equipment and heavy machinery
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Extended hours as operational demands require
