Purpose
The Integrity Pressure Testing Operator — NDT — Denver Area is responsible for performing hydrostatic, pneumatic, nitrogen, helium leak, and related pressure testing operations on piping systems, skids, pressure vessels, and flow iron in field and operational environments throughout the Permian Basin region and other operational locations as needed.
This is a hands-on, travel-required position that supports the safe, accurate, and timely testing of customer equipment prior to deployment and service. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, operational discipline, attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, nitrogen, helium leak, and related pressure tests in accordance with company, client, and industry standards
- Travel to customer locations, field sites, shops, and operational facilities as required
- Review test packages, customer specifications, drawings, and operational requirements prior to testing activities
- Inspect, prepare, and maintain pumps, hoses, gauges, manifolds, valves, fittings, and related testing equipment
- Install blinds, caps, isolation points, and testing manifolds as required for pressure testing operations
- Establish and maintain safe work zones, test boundaries, barricades, and exclusion areas
- Gradually pressurize systems to specified test pressures while monitoring system behavior and equipment performance
- Monitor pressure, temperature, and testing conditions throughout operations to ensure safe and accurate testing
- Identify leaks or irregularities using approved leak detection and troubleshooting methods
- Assist with troubleshooting, repairs, re-torquing, and replacement of components as needed
- Conduct re-tests following repairs or corrective actions
- Accurately document testing data, pressure readings, and inspection results in real time
- Complete pressure testing reports, operational logs, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain calibration records and inspection documentation for gauges and testing instruments
- Communicate operational updates, test results, and equipment concerns with supervisors, inspectors, clients, and team members
- Follow OSHA, ASME, API, customer, and company safety standards at all times
- Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety meetings, toolbox talks, and operational planning activities
- Use proper PPE and promote safe work practices in all operational environments
- Load, transport, organize, clean, and maintain pressure testing equipment and related inventory
- Demonstrate and promote alignment with company core values in daily activities
- Contribute to the overall team effort by completing related tasks and responsibilities
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively for work assignments required
- Previous experience in pressure testing, oil & gas operations, industrial maintenance, mechanical field work, or related industry preferred
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and test packages preferred
- Ability to work in industrial, outdoor, and physically demanding environments required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs required
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, rotating schedules, and extended travel assignments as operational needs require
